MUSHROOM (a sketchy February)

Of course I will stand tall for you
I will protect your fears
I will guard your insecurities,
I will head for the sun to shade you,
I will not let your doubts drown you.

So why then did you leave?
I heard you’re over my words
words have it that you have swallowed earth
and given the ears of the wind a different story.
Everything is not just nothing now,
No wind comes empty handed.

So why I still stand as the sun
and protect my heart as though its not broken
is because of what you see me become.
You have called me like a lamp by your bedpost,
amongst all, you gave me a name
something that has a room.
